1. Open your car door and locate the A-pillar. This is the vertical pillar that runs from the top of the windshield to the floor.
2. Feel around the base of the A-pillar for a small, plastic cover. This is the airbag access cover.
3. Open the airbag access cover by gently pressing on it and pulling it towards you.
4. Locate the A-pillar trim panel retaining screws. These screws are usually located near the top and bottom of the A-pillar.
5. Remove the A-pillar trim panel retaining screws using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
6. Carefully pull the A-pillar trim panel away from the A-pillar. Be careful not to damage the trim panel or the airbag access cover.
Step 2: Remove the Rearview Mirror Button Bracket
1. Locate the rearview mirror button bracket. This is a small, black plastic bracket that is located on the back of the rearview mirror.
2. Press the release button on the rearview mirror button bracket.
3. Pull the rearview mirror button bracket towards you to remove it from the rearview mirror.
Step 3: Reinstall the A-Pillar
1. Carefully place the A-pillar trim panel back into place.
2. Insert the A-pillar trim panel retaining screws into the holes and tighten them using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
3. Close the airbag access cover.
4. Close your car door.
