Can a right hand drive car be driven legally in the us?

In general, right-hand drive (RHD) cars are not street legal in the United States. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule.

One exception is for foreign diplomats and other foreign government officials. They are allowed to import RHD cars for their personal use in the United States.

Another exception is for antique cars. RHD cars that are at least 25 years old are exempt from the general prohibition on RHD cars. This means that you can legally import a RHD antique car into the United States and drive it on the roads.

Finally, there is an exception for certain specialty vehicles. For example, RHD postal vehicles and RHD utility vehicles are often used in the United States.

However, for a typical American citizen, it is generally not legal to drive a RHD car on the roads in the United States. If you are caught driving a RHD car that is not allowed under one of the exceptions described above, you could be subject to fines, impoundment of your vehicle, and other penalties.
