Required Materials:
- Electrical wiring diagram for a 110cc quad
- Battery
- Fuse box
- Headlights
- Taillights
- Ignition switch
- Key
- Wire strippers
- Electrical tape
- Soldering iron
- Solder
Step 1: Prepare the wiring diagram
Make a copy of your wiring diagram and mark all the electrical components such as the battery, ignition, headlights, taillights, etc. This will help you keep track of where all the wires need to go.
Step 2: Connect the battery
The first step is to connect the battery. Attach one end of the positive battery cable to the positive terminal on the battery and the other end to the fuse box. Then connect one end of the negative battery cable to the negative terminal on the battery and the other end to the frame of the quad.
Step 3: Connect the fuse box
Next, connect the fuse box to the electrical components. Follow the wiring diagram to connect the fuses to the ignition switch, headlights, and taillights.
Step 4: Connect the ignition switch
The ignition switch is the central component of the quad's electrical system. Connect the wires from the ignition switch to the battery, fuse box, and starter solenoid.
Step 5: Connect the headlights
Connect the wires from the headlights to the fuse box and the ignition switch.
Step 6: Connect the taillights
Connect the wires from the taillights to the fuse box and the ignition switch.
Step 7: Test the electrical system
Once all of the electrical components are connected, test the system by turning on the key. The headlights and taillights should light up. The starter solenoid should also engage and start the engine.
Step 8: Secure the wiring
Finally, secure the wiring by wrapping electrical tape around the connections. This will help to prevent the wires from becoming disconnected.
Safety Tips:
- Always wear safety glasses when working with electrical components.
- Never work on an electrical system with the engine running.
- If you are unsure about how to wire the quad, consult with a professional.
