Can you ride electric scooter on the side of road in NJ?

Yes.

In the state of New Jersey, electric scooters are classified as "electric personal assistive mobility devices" (EPAMDs). EPAMDs are allowed to be ridden on the side of the road, as long as the rider is at least 16 years old and is wearing a helmet.

Additionally, EPAMDs are not allowed to be ridden on sidewalks, in crosswalks, or against traffic.
