1. Disconnect the battery. Before you do anything else, disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical sparks or shocks. To do this, locate the negative (-) battery terminal and loosen the bolt that holds the cable in place. Then, remove the cable from the terminal.
2. Remove the battery cover. The battery cover is located on the left side of the bike, near the footpeg. It is held in place by two bolts. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts and remove the cover.
3. Take out the battery. Once the cover is removed, you will see the battery. It is held in place by a strap. Unbuckle the strap and lift the battery out of the compartment.
4. Reinstall the battery. When reinstalling the battery, be sure to put it back in the same way that it came out. Also, make sure to connect the positive (+) cable to the positive terminal and the negative (-) cable to the negative terminal.
5. Tighten the bolts and replace the cover. Once the battery is in place, tighten the bolts that hold the strap in place. Then, replace the battery cover and tighten the bolts that hold it in place.
6. Reconnect the battery. Finally, reconnect the battery by attaching the negative (-) cable to the negative terminal and the positive (+) cable to the positive terminal.
