- 10 mm wrench
- ¼ inch ratchet
Parts:
- Replacement belt (OEM #01-02-10)
1. Park your ATV on a flat surface and turn off the engine.
2. Locate the CVT cover on the right side of the ATV. It is a black plastic cover with four screws.
3. Remove the four screws that hold the CVT cover in place and remove the cover.
4. Locate the drive belt inside the CVT cover. It is a rubber belt that runs between the crankshaft pulley and the clutch pulley.
5. Inspect the drive belt for any damage. If the belt is cracked, frayed, or worn, it should be replaced.
6. To loosen the drive belt, turn the tensioner pulley counterclockwise using a 10 mm wrench.
7. Slip the new drive belt over the crankshaft pulley and the clutch pulley.
8. Turn the tensioner pulley clockwise until the drive belt is tight.
9. Reattach the CVT cover using the four screws that you removed earlier.
10. Start the ATV and check the drive belt tension. The belt should be tight but not too tight. If the belt is too tight, it can damage the crankshaft or clutch pulleys. If the belt is too loose, it can slip off and cause the ATV to lose power. Make adjustments as needed.
