Check the battery voltage. The battery voltage should be between 12.6 and 13.2 volts when the engine is running. If the voltage is lower than 12.6 volts, the battery is not being charged properly.
Check the charging system output. The charging system output should be between 14 and 15 volts at the battery terminals when the engine is running. If the output is lower than 14 volts, the charging system is not working properly.
Look for signs of a bad charging system. Some of the signs of a bad charging system include:
* The battery is dead or will not hold a charge.
* The lights dim when the engine is running.
* The engine stalls or runs rough.
If you suspect that your charging system is not working properly, you should take your motorcycle to a qualified mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
