To find it:
1. Locate the underhood fuse box: This is usually a large black plastic box located near the battery, often on the driver's side.
2. Consult your owner's manual: This is the best resource. It will have a diagram of the fuse box showing the location of relays and fuses. Look for a diagram specifically labeled "relay" or "underhood fuse panel".
3. Look for a relay labeled "Fuel Pump" or something similar: The relay itself might be marked, but sometimes it's not clearly labeled.
4. Check the fuse box diagram for a relay associated with the fuel pump: If there's no obvious "Fuel Pump" label, the diagram will show which relay controls the pump. The diagram usually has a legend explaining each symbol and its associated component.
5. If it's not in the underhood fuse box: While less common, some relays may be located in other areas, like the interior fuse box (usually located inside the car, often under the dash).
Important Note: Before working on any electrical components, disconnect the negative (-) terminal of your battery to prevent accidental shorts and injury. Also, be careful not to mistake a fuse for a relay; they look similar but have different functions. Relays are generally larger and have multiple terminals.
