How do you change and idler arm Chevy Tahoe?

Tools Needed

* Wrenches

* Socket set

* Jack and jack stands

* Pry bar

* New idler arm

Instructions

1. Park your Tahoe in a safe location and turn off the engine.

2. Engage the parking brake.

3. Jack up the front of your Tahoe and support it with jack stands.

4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the front tire.

5. Locate the idler arm. It is a long, metal arm that connects the steering linkage to the frame of your Tahoe.

6. Use a wrench to loosen the nuts and bolts that hold the idler arm in place.

7. Use a pry bar to pry the idler arm out of its socket.

8. Install the new idler arm.

9. Tighten the nuts and bolts that hold the idler arm in place.

10. Put the tire back on and lower your Tahoe.

Tips

* Make sure that you have the right size wrenches and sockets for the job.

* Be careful not to drop the nuts and bolts that you remove.

* Tighten the nuts and bolts securely.
