The SHO (Super High Output) model used a unique, higher-performance transmission (typically a Mazda-sourced 5-speed) significantly different from the standard transmissions used in other Taurus models. Even between different years of SHOs, there can be subtle differences. The bellhousing, mounting points, and internal components will not be compatible.
