Were there any cars produced in 1942 through 1946?

Very few civilian cars were produced in the United States from 1942-1945. Production was almost entirely halted due to World War II; factories were retooled to produce war materials.

While some very limited production of civilian vehicles might have occurred in certain countries outside of the major war zones, the vast majority of car manufacturing for the consumer market ceased during this period. Production resumed in earnest in 1946, but even then, it took some time to get back to pre-war levels.
