What kind of Power steering fluid do you use for a 2002 mercury sable?

The 2002 Mercury Sable requires Mercon V ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) for its power steering system. Do not use power steering fluid specifically labeled for power steering. Many vehicles of that era used ATF in their power steering systems. Always double-check your owner's manual to be absolutely sure, but Mercon V is the generally accepted recommendation.
