The oil drain plug on a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado V6 is located on the
bottom of the oil pan. The oil pan is the large, somewhat flat, metal pan underneath the engine. To be more precise, it's on the
passenger side (right side) of the oil pan.
However, you'll need to get under the truck to see it. Be sure to use jack stands and follow proper safety precautions before working under your vehicle. The plug itself is usually a fairly standard bolt.
