Where is the torque control solenoid on a 1997 dodge ram 1500 four wheel drive located?

The torque control solenoid on a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 isn't a single, easily identifiable component like a relay. Instead, its function is integrated into the transfer case actuator motor. There isn't a separate "torque control solenoid".

The transfer case actuator motor is located on the driver's side of the transfer case itself. To find it, you'll need to get under your truck. It's a relatively small electric motor with wiring connected to it. This motor receives signals from the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) to engage and disengage 4WD. The "torque control" aspect is managed electronically within the PCM's control of this motor.
