What is a car radiator?

A car radiator is a heat exchanger that cools the engine's coolant before it's circulated back through the engine. It works by passing the hot coolant through a network of thin tubes, exposing a large surface area to the air flowing over it (often aided by a fan). This allows heat to dissipate from the coolant into the air, preventing the engine from overheating.
