Can you drive a 1993 wagoneer without the rear shaft?

You can drive a 1993 Jeep Grand Wagoneer without the rear driveshaft, but only in 2WD. Removing the rear driveshaft disconnects the rear axle from the powertrain. The vehicle will only be driven by the front wheels. This is fine on dry pavement, but severely limits traction and capability, especially in snow, ice, or off-road situations.
