The 1989 Camaro RS with the 5.0L (305 cubic inch) engine came standard with a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. A manual transmission was not a standard option for that combination. You could have gotten a manual transmission with the other engines offered in the RS that year, but not with the 305.
