Is there a Video showing How do you Replace the Alternator on 1994 Dodge Caravan?

Tools Needed:

1. Socket wrench set

2. Jack and jack stands

3. Pliers

4. New Alternator

5. Serpentine belt

Step 1: Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down completely.

Step 2: Disconnect the negative battery terminal. This will help prevent any electrical shocks while you are working.

Step 3: Raise your car with the jack and support it on the jack stands. Make sure that both the emergency brake and the parking brake are engaged before you do this.

Step 4: Remove the serpentine belt. To do this, loosen the tensioner pulley bolt and then remove the belt from the pulleys.

Step 5: Remove the alternator bracket bolt. It is located on the back of the alternator.

Step 6: Remove the two alternator mounting bolts. They are located on the front of the alternator.

Step 7: Remove the alternator from the car. You may need to pry it off with a pry bar.

Step 8: Put the new alternator into place. Make sure that the mounting bolts align with the holes in the bracket.

Step 9: Reinstall the alternator mounting bolts and the bracket bolt. Tighten them until they are snug.

Step 10: Reinstall the serpentine belt. To do this, route the belt around the pulleys and then tighten the tensioner pulley bolt.

Step 11: Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

Step 12: Start the engine and test the alternator. The alternator light on the dashboard should turn off.

Note: If you are uncomfortable performing this repair yourself, you can take your car to a mechanic to have it done.
