1. Park the truck on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of the truck.
3. Locate the transmission dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine, on the driver's side.
4. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission until it is seated properly.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the fluid level is low, add enough transmission fluid to bring it up to the proper level.
8. Reinsert the dipstick and close the hood of the truck.
