2. Open the hood.
3. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick, which is usually near the back of the engine.
4. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the tube and pull it out again.
6. Check the fluid level on the dipstick. It should be between the "full" and "add" marks.
7. If the fluid level is low, add enough transmission fluid to bring it up to the "full" mark.
8. Reinsert the dipstick and close the hood.
