Instructions
1. Prepare your vehicle
* Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool down completely.
* If necessary, raise the vehicle using ramps or a jack and stands for better access underneath.
2. Locate the transmission lines
* Find the transmission lines under your vehicle, usually near the transmission pan.
* Follow the lines to where they connect to the transmission cooler (if already installed) or the radiator.
3. Disconnect the transmission lines
* Place a drain pan under the transmission lines to catch any fluid that spills.
* Use a wrench to loosen and remove the fittings that connect the transmission lines to the transmission cooler or radiator.
* Be careful not to spill any fluid on yourself or the ground.
4. Install the new transmission cooler
* Mount the transmission cooler in a secure location in front of the radiator, following the instructions provided with the cooler kit.
* Make sure the cooler is positioned so that air can flow freely through it.
5. Connect the transmission lines to the cooler
* Connect the transmission lines to the new cooler using the fittings and hoses provided in the kit.
* Tighten the fittings securely to prevent leaks.
6. Refill the transmission fluid
* Add transmission fluid to the transmission through the dipstick tube until the fluid level is full.
* Check the owner's manual for the recommended type and amount of transmission fluid.
7. Start the engine and check for leaks
* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* Check for any leaks around the transmission cooler and transmission lines.
* If you find any leaks, tighten the fittings or hoses until the leaks stop.
8. Test drive the vehicle
* Take the vehicle for a test drive to make sure the transmission is operating properly.
* Check the transmission fluid level again after the test drive to make sure it is still full.
Note: If you are not comfortable performing this task, it is recommended to have it done by a qualified mechanic.
Always refer to the vehicle-specific repair manual for detailed instructions and torque specifications for your particular model.
