Locate the ignition switch connector on your truck. This connector is usually located on the steering column, under the dashboard.
Identify the ignition switch connector wires. The ignition switch connector will have several wires, each of which serves a different function. The wire you need to connect the green wire to is the "IGN" or "IG" wire. The IGN wire is typically a red or pink wire, but it can also be another color. You can consult your truck's wiring diagram to confirm the identity of the IGN wire.
Cut a section of the IGN wire, leaving enough slack in the wires to make the connection with the green wire.
Connect the green wire to the IGN wire using a crimp connector or solder. Make sure the connection is secure and well-insulated.
Reinstall the ignition switch connector.
This should establish the connection between the tachometer and the ignition, allowing the tachometer to receive the necessary signals from the engine. Once connected, the tachometer should display engine RPMs while the truck is running.
Remember to consult your truck's wiring diagram or a qualified auto electrician for specific details and guidance on your vehicle's electrical system.
