- 10mm socket
- 1/4-inch ratchet
- Extension bar
- Torque wrench
2. Follow these steps to install the torque converter nuts:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
- Engage the parking brake and chock the rear wheels.
- Crawl under the vehicle and locate the torque converter nuts. They are located on the back of the engine, around the edge of the torque converter.
- Use the extension bar and the 10mm socket to loosen the old nuts.
- Remove the old nuts.
- Hand-tighten the new nuts onto the torque converter.
- Use the torque wrench to tighten the nuts to the specified torque. The torque specification for these nuts is 45 ft-lbs.
3. Once the nuts are tightened, recheck the parking brake and chocks, then lower the vehicle.
