Tools Needed:
- 10mm socket
- Ratchet
- Flat-blade screwdriver
- Pliers
- Fuel line disconnect tool
- New fuel pump
Instructions:
1.) Turn off the engine and apply the parking brake.
2.) Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3.) Locate the fuel pump access cover on the bottom of the vehicle. It is usually located near the fuel tank.
4.) Remove the access cover bolts and remove the cover.
5.) Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump. Use a fuel line disconnect tool to release the lines.
6.) Remove the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
7.) Remove the fuel pump mounting bolts and remove the pump.
8.) Install the new fuel pump in the reverse order of removal. Be careful not to damage the fuel lines or electrical connector.
9.) Test the fuel pump by turning on the ignition. You should hear the pump run for a few seconds.
10.) Reinstall the fuel pump access cover.
11.) Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
12.) Start the engine and check for leaks.
