Tools and materials needed:
* New fuel injector(s)
* Socket wrench set
* Flat-head screwdriver
* Rags
* Fuel injector sealant
* Safety goggles
* Gloves
Step 1: Safety Precautions
1. Ensure that the vehicle is parked in a safe location, and the engine has been off for at least 30 minutes to cool down.
2. Wear safety goggles and gloves to protect yourself from fuel and debris.
Step 2: Relieve Fuel Pressure
1. Open the hood and locate the fuel pressure regulator, usually located on the fuel rail.
2. Use a flat-head screwdriver to carefully pry off the cap on the fuel pressure regulator.
3. Press the valve on the fuel pressure regulator to release the fuel pressure.
Step 3: Remove the Fuel Rail
1. Locate the fuel rail on top of the engine, which supplies fuel to the injectors.
2. Disconnect the fuel supply line by pressing the release button and pulling it off the fuel rail.
3. Remove the mounting bolts that secure the fuel rail in place using the socket wrench.
4. Carefully lift off the fuel rail, taking care not to spill any fuel.
Step 4: Disconnect Fuel Injector Electrical Connectors
1. Identify the electrical connectors attached to each fuel injector.
2. Use a flat-head screwdriver to carefully pry off the electrical connectors.
Step 5: Remove the Fuel Injectors
1. Use the socket wrench to loosen and remove the bolts holding each fuel injector in place.
2. Pull the fuel injectors straight out of the fuel rail.
Step 6: Replace the Fuel Injectors
1. Apply a thin layer of fuel injector sealant to the O-rings of the new fuel injectors.
2. Insert the new fuel injectors into the fuel rail.
3. Secure the fuel injectors with the mounting bolts and tighten them snugly.
Step 7: Reconnect the Fuel Injector Electrical Connectors
1. Reattach the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors by firmly pushing them into place.
Step 8: Reinstall the Fuel Rail
1. Position the fuel rail back onto the engine and align the mounting holes.
2. Insert and tighten the mounting bolts to secure the fuel rail.
3. Reconnect the fuel supply line to the fuel rail by pushing it into place until you hear a click.
Step 9: Start the Engine
1. Once everything is reconnected, turn the key to start the engine. Allow it to run for a few minutes.
2. Check for any fuel leaks around the fuel rail and injector connections. If you see a leak, tighten the connections further.
