- 10mm Socket

- Jack and Jack Stands
Instructions:
1. Disconnect the Battery:
- Disconnect the negative terminal of the car battery using the 10mm socket and ratchet.
2. Raise the Vehicle:
- Securely lift the vehicle using a jack and place jack stands under the appropriate lifting points.
3. Locate the Starter:
- Look under the vehicle near the engine compartment, around the area of the transmission bell housing. The starter is usually a cylindrical metal part with electrical wires connected to it.
4. Disconnect Electrical Connectors:
- There are three electrical connectors on the starter: the battery power cable, the solenoid connector, and the ignition switch connector. Use the flathead screwdriver or pry tool to disconnect all three of the connectors.
5. Remove Starter Bracket Bolts:
- Remove the two 12mm bolts that hold the starter in place.
6. Remove the Starter:
- Pull the starter straight out from the bell housing, being careful not to drop it. It is heavy.
7. Replace Starter
- Insert the new starter into the bell housing. Make sure that it is fully seated.
8. Reinstall Starter Bracket Bolts
- Replace the two 12mm bolts that were removed earlier. Tighten them securely.
9. Reconnect Electrical Connectors
- Reinstall the three electrical connectors that were removed earlier.
10. Lower the Vehicle
- Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and remove them.
11. Reconnect Car Battery:
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal using the 10mm socket and ratchet.
