2. Locate the engine. The block heater cord is usually located near the engine block, on the driver's side.
3. If the block heater cord is not visible, follow the coolant hoses from the radiator to the engine block. The cord will be connected to the engine block near where the coolant hoses connect.
4. Once the cord is located, follow it to the electrical outlet.
5. Plug the cord into the outlet to preheat the engine block before starting the vehicle.
