1. Begin by opening the hood of your Sportage.
2. Locate the engine cover, which is usually a plastic or metal cover that covers the top of the engine.
3. Remove the engine cover by unlatching the clips or bolts holding it in place.
4. Once the engine cover is removed, you will see the cylinder head, which is the top of the engine block where the spark plugs are located.
5. The spark plugs are located in the center of each cylinder head and are surrounded by spark plug wires.
6. To access the spark plugs, you will need to remove the spark plug wires by gently pulling them off of the spark plugs.
7. Once the spark plug wires are removed, you can use a spark plug wrench to loosen and remove the spark plugs.
8. When installing new spark plugs, be sure to tighten them to the correct torque specifications provided in the Sportage's owner manual.
9. Reconnect the spark plug wires to the new spark plugs, and reattach the engine cover.
