1. Park both vehicles in a safe, well-lit area. Turn off the engines and set the parking brakes.
2. Open the hoods of both vehicles.
3. Locate the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on both batteries. The positive terminal is usually marked with a "+" symbol, and the negative terminal is usually marked with a "-" symbol.
4. Connect the jumper cables. First, connect one end of the positive jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery. Then, connect the other end of the positive jumper cable to the positive terminal of the good battery. Next, connect one end of the negative jumper cable to the negative terminal of the good battery. Finally, connect the other end of the negative jumper cable to an unpainted metal surface on the dead vehicle, such as the engine block.
5. Start the good vehicle and let it run for a few minutes. This will help to charge the dead battery.
6. Try to start the dead vehicle. If it starts, keep it running for a few minutes.
7. Disconnect the jumper cables in the reverse order that you connected them.
8. Close the hoods of both vehicles.
9. Drive both vehicles for at least 30 minutes to allow the batteries to fully recharge.
Here are some additional tips for charging a car battery to car:
* Make sure that the jumper cables are in good condition and that the connections are tight.
* Do not smoke or use any other ignition sources near the batteries.
* If the dead battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes to charge enough to start the vehicle.
* If the dead battery is frozen, it may not be possible to charge it. You may need to take it to a warm place to thaw it out before you can charge it.
