The valet key comes without the electronic remote; it is a traditional mechanical key that works in your car's door locks.
1. Locate your valet key.
2. Insert the valet key into the vehicle's driver's side door lock.
3. Turn the key clockwise to unlock the door.
Option 2: Use the emergency release cable
1. Locate the emergency release cable. It is usually located under the steering wheel or in the center console.
2. Pull on the cable to open the hood of the vehicle.
3. Once the hood is open, locate the battery.
4. Remove the negative terminal from the battery.
5. Wait 30 seconds.
6. Reconnect the negative terminal.
7. Try to start the engine.
Option 3: Call roadside assistance
If you cannot unlock your vehicle using either of the above methods, you will need to call BMW Roadside Assistance.
