Wipe the fluid off the dipstick and reinsert it fully.

Withdraw again the dipstick and hold it horizontally.

Check the fluid level on the dipstick. It should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the dipstick.

If the fluid level is low, add enough ATF to bring it up to the "MAX" mark.

Reinstall the transmission fluid dipstick.
