* Replacement serpentine belt
* 1/2-inch drive ratchet
* 15 mm socket
* 18 mm socket
* pry bar
Instructions:
1. Park your truck i n a safe location and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down completely before beginning.
2. Locate the serpentine belt. It is located on the front of the engine, and it runs around the crankshaft, water pump, alternator, and power steering pump.
3. Loosen the tensioner pulley. This is the pulley that is located at the top of the serpentine belt. Use the 15 mm socket to loosen the bolt that holds the tensioner in place.
4. Pry the belt off of the pulleys. Use the pry bar to pry the belt off of the crankshaft pulley, water pump pulley, alternator pulley, and power steering pump pulley.
5. Install the new serpentine belt. Start by putting the belt around the crankshaft pulley. Then, work your way around the engine, putting the belt around the other pulleys. Make sure that the belt is seated properly in all of the grooves.
6. Tighten the tensioner pulley. Use the 15 mm socket to tighten the bolt that holds the tensioner in place. Make sure that the belt is tight enough so that it does not slip, but not too tight so that it puts unnecessary strain on the engine.
7. Start the engine and check the belt. Make sure that the belt is running smoothly and that there is no squealing or grinding noise. If there is a noise, the belt may be too tight or too loose. Adjust the tensioner pulley as necessary.
