Massachusetts has a three-day cooling-off period for new car purchases, which allows buyers to cancel the purchase contract and return the vehicle for any reason. The cooling-off period begins the day after the vehicle is delivered to the buyer. To cancel the contract, the buyer must send a written notice of cancellation to the dealer within the three-day period. The buyer is also responsible for any damage to the vehicle during the cooling-off period, and the dealer may charge a restocking fee of up to 10% of the purchase price.
