2. Locate the air filter housing. It is a black plastic box located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the front of the car.
3. Unclip the air filter housing cover. There are two plastic clips that hold the cover in place. Use a flathead screwdriver or other thin tool to pry them open.
4. Remove the air filter. It is a rectangular piece of paper or foam.
5. Inspect the air filter for dirt and debris. If it is dirty, replace it with a new one.
6. Reinstall the air filter and the air filter housing cover. Make sure that the clips are securely fastened.
