1. Gather the necessary tools and materials:
- A small flat-head screwdriver
- A new CR2032 coin battery
2. Locate the battery compartment:
- The battery compartment is located on the back of the key fob. There are small grooves running down the face of the fob. Slide a small flathead screwdriver into the grooves and pry on the lower plastic panel to release it from the upper panel.
3. Use the flat-head screwdriver to carefully pry open the battery compartment cover.
4. Remove the old battery:
- Once the battery compartment cover is open, you will see the old battery. Use your finger or the flat-head screwdriver to carefully pry the old battery out of the compartment.
5. Insert the new battery:
- Make sure that the positive (+) side of the new battery is facing up.
- Gently press the new battery into the battery compartment.
6. Close the battery compartment cover:
- Once the new battery is in place, close the battery compartment cover.
- Press firmly until it clicks into place.
7. Test the key fob:
- Press the buttons on the key fob to make sure that they are working properly.
Your Mini Cooper S key fob should now be working again with the new battery.
