Where is starter located on 1962 beetle?

- The starter is located on the left-side (also called as "driver's side) of the engine.

- It is mounted below the rear of the cylinder head and is directly connected to the flywheel housing .

- The starter is held in place by two bolts, and there are two electrical connections to the starter:

- One is the positive cable from the battery, and

- The other is the solenoid
