1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood.
3. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually marked with a red or orange cap.
4. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Re-insert the dipstick into the transmission fluid reservoir.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the fluid level is low, add the recommended type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.
8. Re-check the fluid level and add more transmission fluid if necessary.
9. Replace the dipstick.
10. Close the hood.
