1. Locate the hood release lever. It is located under the dashboard, on the driver's side.
2. Pull the hood release lever. This will release the hood.
3. Go to the front of the vehicle and lift the hood. There are two support rods that will hold the hood up.
Here are some additional tips for opening the hood of a 2004 Volkswagen Beetle:
* If the hood release lever is stuck, you can use a screwdriver or other thin object to pry it open.
* If the hood is not opening all the way, make sure that the support rods are properly seated in the holes on the underside of the hood.
