1. Gather the necessary tools:
- Flat-head screwdriver
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Replacement electric wing mirror switch
2. Disconnect the battery:
- Locate the battery in your Xsara Picasso's engine compartment.
- Disconnect the negative (-) terminal of the battery to prevent any electrical accidents.
3. Remove the door panel:
- Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry open the plastic covers over the door handle screws.
- Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws exposed by lifting the covers.
- Gently pry around the edges of the door panel to unclip it from its mounts.
- Set the door panel aside carefully.
4. Locate the mirror switch:
- Once the door panel is removed, you'll see the electric wing mirror switch. It's usually located on the door's armrest.
5. Disconnect the connector:
- Locate the electrical connector attached to the back of the mirror switch.
- Press the release tab on the connector and carefully disconnect it.
6. Remove the old switch:
- Remove the screws that hold the mirror switch in place.
- Carefully remove the old switch from its mounting.
7. Install the replacement switch:
- Position the new mirror switch into its mounting.
- Secure it using the screws that you removed earlier.
8. Reconnect the electrical connector:
- Align the electrical connector with the port on the new mirror switch.
- Press the connector firmly until it clicks into place.
9. Reattach the door panel:
- Carefully align the door panel with its mounts.
- Gently press around the edges of the panel until the clips engage.
- Replace the screws you removed earlier to secure the door panel.
10. Reconnect the battery:
- Reconnect the negative (-) terminal of the battery.
11. Test the mirror switch:
- Start the engine and ensure that the new electric wing mirror switch is functioning correctly.
