Materials:
- New transmission fluid (check owner's manual for the proper type and amount)
- Funnel
- Clean rag
Procedure:
1. Park your vehicle on a level surface. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
2. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. The dipstick is typically located on the driver's side of the engine compartment. It is a long, thin rod with a yellow handle.
3. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag. The fluid level should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
4. If the fluid level is low, add fluid through the dipstick tube using a funnel. Be careful not to overfill.
5. Replace the dipstick and start the engine. Let the engine run for a few minutes, then check the fluid level again. The fluid level should now be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
Note: If the fluid level is significantly low, it is important to have the transmission checked by a qualified mechanic as there may be a leak or other problem.

- If you spill any transmission fluid, clean it up immediately with a rag. Transmission fluid is flammable, so it is important to keep it away from heat and open flames.
- If you are not comfortable adding transmission fluid yourself, you can take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic who can do it for you.
