1. Locate the hood release lever inside the vehicle. It is usually located on the driver's side footwell, near the door sill.
2. Pull the hood release lever to release the hood. If the release cable is disconnected, the hood will not open.
3. Go to the front of the vehicle and locate the hood latch. It is located in the center of the hood, just below the windshield.
4. Insert a flat-head screwdriver or a key into the hood latch.
5. Turn the screwdriver or key counterclockwise to release the hood latch.
6. Lift the hood up and prop it open with the hood prop rod.
Once the hood is open, you can access the disconnected release cable and repair it if necessary.
