1. Locate the key release button. It is usually a small button on the side of the key fob, near the top.
2. Press and hold the key release button while pulling on the key blade to remove it from the remote housing.
3. Turn the key blade over and locate the battery compartment. It is usually a small compartment on the back of the key blade, secured by a small screw.
4. Use a smallPhillips-head screwdriver to loosen or remove the screw that holds the battery compartment closed.
5. Remove the old battery from the compartment and dispose of it properly.
6. Insert the new battery into the compartment, making sure to match the polarity of the battery (the positive terminal (+) of the battery should face the positive terminal (+) of the compartment).
7. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
8. Insert the key blade back into the remote housing and press the key release button to lock the key in place.
Tips:
- Make sure the new battery is the correct type for your remote.
- If the remote still doesn't work after replacing the battery, the battery may be inserted incorrectly, there could be a problem with the key itself, or the remote's internal components may be damaged.
- Some key remotes may have a different battery replacement process. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual or a trusted automotive technician if you experience difficulties.
