1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood.
3. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually near the rear of the engine, between the transmission and the firewall.
4. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a clean rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level.
7. The fluid level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the dipstick.
8. If the fluid level is low, you should add transmission fluid to the transmission.
9. Check the transmission fluid level again after you have added fluid.
