2. Locate the antenna on the roof of your truck. It is usually located in the center of the roof, near the front.
3. Remove the old antenna. There are two ways to do this:
- If the antenna is a screw-on type, simply turn it counterclockwise until it comes off.
- If the antenna is a push-on type, you will need to use a pair of pliers to gently pry it off.
4. Clean the antenna mount. Use a clean cloth and some rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt or debris from the antenna mount.
5. Apply a sealant to the antenna mount. This will help to prevent water from leaking into the truck.
6. Screw on the new antenna. If the new antenna is a screw-on type, simply turn it clockwise until it is tight.
7. If the new antenna is a push-on type, simply press it into the antenna mount until it is secure.
8. Test the new antenna. Turn on your radio and make sure that you are able to receive a clear signal.
Tips:
- Be careful not to drop the antenna.
- If you are having difficulty removing the old antenna, you can use a penetrating oil to loosen it up.
- Make sure that the new antenna is the correct size for your truck.
