Where is the o2 sensor on a 1999 ford ranger?

There are two oxygen sensors on a 1999 Ford Ranger. One is located in the exhaust manifold, and the other is located in the exhaust pipe, downstream of the catalytic converter.

To replace the oxygen sensor in the exhaust manifold:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

3. Locate the oxygen sensor in the exhaust manifold. It is usually located on the side of the manifold, near the top.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oxygen sensor.

5. Use a wrench to loosen the oxygen sensor.

6. Remove the oxygen sensor from the exhaust manifold.

7. Install the new oxygen sensor.

8. Tighten the oxygen sensor.

9. Reconnect the electrical connector to the oxygen sensor.

10. Install the air cleaner assembly.

11. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

To replace the oxygen sensor in the exhaust pipe:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Locate the oxygen sensor in the exhaust pipe. It is usually located downstream of the catalytic converter.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oxygen sensor.

4. Use a wrench to loosen the oxygen sensor.

5. Remove the oxygen sensor from the exhaust pipe.

6. Install the new oxygen sensor.

7. Tighten the oxygen sensor.

8. Reconnect the electrical connector to the oxygen sensor.

9. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
