2. Loosen the serpentine belt tensioner. Use a wrench or socket to turn the tensioner pulley clockwise until the serpentine belt is loose.
3. Remove the serpentine belt. Once the serpentine belt is loose, you can remove it from the engine by pulling it off of the pulleys.
4. Reroute the serpentine belt. To reroute the serpentine belt without using the AC compressor, you will need to bypass the AC compressor pulley. To do this, you will need to wrap the belt around the water pump pulley, the crankshaft pulley, and the alternator pulley.
5. Tension the serpentine belt. Once the serpentine belt is rerouted, you will need to tension it. To do this, use a wrench or socket to turn the tensioner pulley counterclockwise until the belt is tight.
6. Start the engine. Once the serpentine belt is tensioned, you can start the engine. Check to make sure that the belt is running smoothly and that there is no noise from the AC compressor.
