How to install a 1999 gmc safari airconditioning blower motor?

Tools Needed:

- Phillips-head screwdriver

- Flat-head screwdriver

- 5/16-inch socket wrench

- 7/16-inch socket wrench

- 10-inch extension bar

- Flashlight

- Shop towel

Instructions:

1. Park your GMC Safari in a level spot and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down completely.

2. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable using the 5/16-inch socket wrench. This will prevent you from accidentally turning on the engine while you are working.

3. Remove the air intake duct by loosening the hose clamp at the throttle body using a flat-head screwdriver. Disconnect the electrical connector from the air intake temperature sensor. Lift the air intake duct up and out of the engine bay.

4. Locate the blower motor on the passenger side of the engine bay, behind the heater core. It is held in place by three 7/16-inch bolts.

5. Remove the three bolts using the 7/16-inch socket wrench and extension bar. Be careful not to drop the bolts into the engine bay.

6. Pull the blower motor straight out of the heater core housing. Be careful not to damage the electrical connector or the wiring harness.

7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.

8. Inspect the blower motor for damage. If it is damaged, replace it with a new one.

9. Reinstall the blower motor by inserting it into the heater core housing. Be sure to align the electrical connector with the port on the blower motor.

10. Secure the blower motor in place with the three 7/16-inch bolts. Tighten the bolts until they are snug.

11. Reconnect the electrical connector to the blower motor.

12. Reinstall the air intake duct by connecting the hose clamp at the throttle body and the electrical connector from the air intake temperature sensor.

13. Reconnect the negative battery cable to the battery terminal.

14. Start the engine and test the blower motor. Make sure that it is working properly on all speeds.
