1. Prep your work area.
Park the Silverado on a flat surface and engage the parking brake. Open the tailgate and place a soft cloth on the lip to prevent scratches.
2. Remove the tailgate handle bezel.
Use a pry tool or flat-head screwdriver to gently pry the tailgate handle bezel outward. Be careful not to damage the paint.
3. Remove the tailgate lock cylinder bezel.
Press down on the release button on the tailgate lock cylinder and pull the bezel outward.
4. Remove the tailgate light bezels.
Use a pry tool or flat-head screwdriver to gently pry the tailgate light bezels outward. Be careful not to damage the paint.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Disconnect the electrical connectors for the tailgate lights and the tailgate lock.
6. Remove the tailgate bezel.
Use a pry tool or flat-head screwdriver to gently pry the tailgate bezel outward until it detaches from the tailgate. Be careful not to damage the paint.
7. Reinstall the tailgate bezel.
To reinstall the tailgate bezel, simply align it with the tailgate and press down until it snaps into place. Reconnect the electrical connectors and reinstall the tailgate light bezels, the tailgate lock cylinder bezel, and the tailgate handle bezel.
8. Test the tailgate bezel.
Open and close the tailgate to make sure the bezel is properly installed and functioning properly.
