The hazard flasher unit on a 1998 Mercury Marquis is located under the left side of the instrument panel, near the brake pedal. To access it, you will need to remove the lower dash panel cover, which is held in place by several screws. Once the cover is removed, you will see the hazard flasher unit attached to the wiring harness. It is a small, black box with a red button on top.
