Tools:
- Socket wrench set

Parts:
- New alternator
- Alternator belt (if necessary)
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Locate the alternator on the front of the engine. It is usually on the right side, mounted to the engine block.
3. Remove the serpentine belt by using a wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley.
4. Remove the upper alternator bracket by removing the two bolts that hold it in place.
5. Remove the power steering pump bracket by removing the three bolts that hold it in place.
6. Remove the lower alternator bracket by removing the two bolts that hold it in place.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the alternator.
8. Disconnect the charging wire from the alternator by removing the nut that holds it in place.
9. Remove the alternator from the vehicle.
10. Install the new alternator in the reverse order that you removed the old one.
11. Reconnect the electrical connector and the charging wire to the alternator.
12. Reinstall the lower alternator bracket, power steering pump bracket, and upper alternator bracket.
13. Reinstall the serpentine belt.
14. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
15. Start the engine and check that the alternator is charging properly.
You may need to adjust the tension of the serpentine belt after installing the alternator.
